Meet Michelle

In_the_office_Red_DressMichelle Harrison started My Dreamz Eventz in 2004, after having spent the preceding five years as a wedding & social event planner and freelance corporate events operations manager.

A southern-California native, Michelle completed her education at Clark Atlanta University, receiving, with honors, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Marketing. Over the course of her college career, Michelle planned and operated a series of annual events for the Central California Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, as well as a host of smaller events for friends and family. She also worked as a wardrobe stylist for a well-known Los Angeles-based agency specializing in print media, album covers, music videos, and television sitcoms.

Both pre and post-graduate, she gained invaluable experience as a member of the management teams at two of Atlanta’s premier eateries – Dailey’s Restaurant and the world-famous Sylvia’s Restaurant. During her tenure at Sylvia’s, she and fellow members of the management team earned recurring recognition from the Mayor’s Office, the Atlanta Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.

While working the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Summer Olympic Games, Michelle suddenly realized her passion – event planning and operations. In the two years that followed, she perfected her skill-set as protégé to one of Atlanta’s foremost event planners. In 1998, Michelle had enough confidence in her abilities to branch out on her own. Since then, she has operated domestic events in over thirty-one states and international events in more than 21 countries. Her clients include numerous Fortune 500 companies, industry leaders in both IT and Finance, as well as a multitude of very satisfied individuals that include Brides, Authors and Recording Artist to name a few. Michelle continued to hone her craft while working with one of Atlanta’s premier Restaurant Groups and Catering Companies. Fifth Group Restaurants and Bold American Events as an Event Manager, Event Coordinator-Planner and Group Dining Sales Coordinator. In this capacity she planned and operated hundreds of weddings and corporate events.

Michelle credits her professional success to great mentors, her sensitivity to her clients’ needs, her warm personality, an innate willingness to tackle any challenge, and her desire to make every event an unforgettable experience.
